ANTI RAGGING COMMITTEE

Per Clause-3, UGC Regulation 2009

Ragging is an Act of Abuse by spoken or written words or e-mails or Post, Teasing or Treating Rudely with the Fresher to cause Psychological Harm, Public Insult, Raise Fear or Threat or Disruption or Physical Injury, Forcing to Entertain or Financial Extortion, asking to perform Lewd Acts, Exploitation of Services, Outrage of Modesty or Sexual Assault, creating Annoyance or Apprehension or Intimidation, Showing power of authority or superiority to derive sadistic thrill or perverted pleasure by Senior Students or any conduct that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other Student.

As per the section 2 (e) of AP Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997  “Ragging means doing an act which causes or is likely to insult or annoyance of fear or apprehension or threat or intimidation or outrage of modesty or injury to a student”
The Anti-Ragging Cell of the college is very vigilant all the times. We have maintained a Zero tolerance zone in the matter of ragging & indiscipline and we have achieved a Ragging-Free Campus. We have not even a single incident of ragging occurred at our campus. Our students are well mannered and well sensitized about the matters of ragging and do not engage in any sort of ragging activities.

ANTI SEXUAL HARASSMENT COMMITTEE.
As per the guidelines of UGC and the Supreme Court an Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell has been established by the GT Group of Institutions to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the staff and students of our group Institutions. The cell was constituted to meet the four basic objectives:

  • To Develop The Guidelines And Norms For A Policy Against Sexual Harassment.
  • To Develop Principles And Procedures For Combating Sexual Harassment.
  • To Work Out Details For The Implementation Of The Policy
  • To Prepare A Detailed Plan Of Action, Both Short And Long Term.

STUDENT GRIEVANCE CELL

The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the department members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge, Grievance Cell. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/ suggestion box of the Grievance Cell. Grievances may also be sent through e-mail to the officer in-charge of Students’ Grievance Cell.

Vision:

The objective of the Grievance Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among the students and employee community in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute.

Mission:

‘You are a child of god. You playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you’ The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit. The students approach the cell to voice their grievances and complaints related with ragging or sexual harassment. The Grievance cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the department members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge Students’ Grievance Cell. Objective:

The objective of the Grievance Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute. A Grievance Cell should be constituted for the redressal of the problems reported by the Students and employees of the College with the following objectives: To create a platform where students and employees can point out their problems, regarding academic and non-academic matters. · Get suggestions from the students for improvement. · Take necessary steps for improvement in the light of grievances. · Upholding the dignity of the College by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the College through promoting cordial Student-Student relationship and Student-teacher relationship etc. Encouraging the Students and employees to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized.

Functions:

The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students · The cell formally will review all cases and will act accordingly as per the Management policy · The cell will give report to the authority about the cases attended to and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.

Procedure For Lodging Complaint:

The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing/or in the format available in the admin dept. and drop it in boxes · The Grievance Cell will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents. · The Grievance Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.
